So Ed Miliband did manage to squeeze in a few words on his leadership alongside his comments on bus regulation. This afternoon he dismissed reports of a letter calling for him to stand down as Labour leader as ‘nonsense’ and said that the party’s focus was ‘on the country’.
‘Honestly, this is nonsense and our focus, and I know the Labour party’s focus, is on the country and is going to remain on the country because there are huge issues that our country faces, issues of why the country doesn’t work for most people. That is what we’re determined to change. We’re determined to be a one-term opposition that changes that. That’s what I said when I embarked on my leadership and that’s the plan we’re going to carry through.’
