Why can’t the Swedish authorities be honest about crime and immigration?

It’s hard to recognise Sweden from the news reports we’re reading nowadays. Yesterday, a 15-year-old at an immigration centre stabbed and killed one of its female employees in Mölndal, near Gothenburg. It’s the kind of story that shakes the country to its core. Sweden has taken a staggering number of unaccompanied children – some 20,000 in the past four months – so the government has to act in loco parentis. To keep them out of trouble, as well as educate and accommodate then. It’s a very tough ask, a job that many Swedes fear is simply beyond the competence of government. In such circumstances, appalling things can happen.

A police spokesman had this to say:

‘It was messy, of course, a crime scene with blood. The perpetrator had been overpowered by other residents, people were depressed and upset. These kinds of calls are becoming more and more common… We’re dealing with more incidents like these since the arrival of so many more refugees from abroad.’

What makes this worse is that in Sweden, the police refuse to say if the suspect was an asylum seeker or not. This happens time and time again: a weird and unusual crime (say, a random stabbing in Ikea or gang rape on a ferry) and the Swedish police (and press) refuse to say whether the perpetrator is an immigrant – as if admitting as much would somehow feed anti-immigrant sentiment.

In fact, the refusal to level with the Swedish public is having the opposite (tragic) effect. News of an attack brings grief and outrage, but the sense that the authorities are not telling the whole truth brings a new level of anger and suspicion. All of this further undermines public support for immigration, and hands votes to the Sweden Democrats. This party, routinely described as ‘neofascist’ by the Swedish press, has the support of about 20 per cent of Swedes. Failure to handle the immigration crisis has incubated a political crisis.

Ivar Arpi wrote earlier this month about the Stockholm sex attacks, which came to light after the Cologne attacks:-

Peter Ågren, police chief in central Stockholm, said: ‘Sometimes we do not dare to say how things really are because we believe it will play into the hands of the Sweden Democrats.’ As we now know, police officers in Stockholm are instructed not to reveal the ethnicity or nationality of any suspects lest they be accused of racism.

And, in this way, a xenophobic populist backlash is being incubated in the most open country on earth. It really does take some doing.

I’m sorry she’s talking balls. “Neo Colonialist Globalist Agenda” – so we didn’t cut off oil supplies in Syria then? How have we intervened in sub-Saharan Africa? I could have got this crap from Noam Chomsky.

Because they are weak and pathetic. Once Vikings – now cowards.

“Why can’t the Swedish authorities be honest about crime and immigration?”
Because if they were they would have to admit that they have been proved wrong about absolutely everything and would see every journalist, university lecturer and politician strung up by their nutst*ts as the case may be.

Like everywhere else in the west the media in Sweden lied about and covered up everything that conflicted with the PC narrative for decades and anyone in politics or public life who told the truth was driven out of their job.

The end result is a political class entirely compromised by PC lies. The worse it gets the more they have to cover up and the worse it gets the worse the reaction to them for covering it up if the whole truth came out and yet the truth is coming out inevitably as social and economic collapse appears on the horizon.

    Catch 22

If they start telling the truth now, decades of previous lies come out.

Sweden is repressing to go along with the crowd.

When the dam breaks they could go the other way and to a degree that might shock the Swedish Democrats who for all their negative publicity are really centre left who dislike mass migration and are comfortable being Swedish.

I have seen the pictures of the so called fifteen year year old child. He is at least twenty!

    • MrJones

yes, claiming to be under 18 makes asylum claims easier

Why can’t they be honest? It should be perfectly honest why not: the Swedish government would have to admit it had been wrong all these years, betrayed its native ethnic population, at a minimum walk its policies back and apologise, or worse, resign, or see riots ensue, or at a maximum see the Sweden Democrats finally get enough votes to run the country – after which the immigration problem would disappear in short order.

I should think that would do for a start in answer to the question.

    “Sweden, rape capital of Europe”
Was shouted down when I started saying this dime two years ago.
European countries are keeping the right people out and letting the wrong people in. And we all know who the wrong people are: Third world Muslim savages.
Mass immigration has to be recognized as the blunder of the decade, going on century, than the politicians responsible need to be kicked out in their ear.

…and another thing the Left do not get is that the UK isn’t THEIR COUNTRY to give away it belongs to everyone. If 1% of people are against unlimited migrants then it shouldn’t happen. Democracy is a con.

  • l8ter2

The problem with trying to create a Utopia is that you will never reach it, and you always have to keep working to create Utopia. This is what Sweden is discovering now, while half the population never wanted to take in immigrants and refugees willy nilly anyway.

  • Vinnie

Europe is done. It’s over. The conversation we need to start having now is, we need an alternative or break away country. Because clearly there are people who cover up their own rape for the cause and then they are people like me who, when I think of Cologne even more it get crazier every time I think of it, and to the Left it’s not a big deal. It is a big deal and I want to live in a society where it is considered shocking. So we need ‘safe space’ for us racist Islamophobes so that we cannot be a harm to anyone but we have no choice. I say Cornwall, we petition to have it as a separate state with 0 immigration. See how long that lasts. People might read this and I think I am being OTT but this is a serious concept we need to look at because it’s not working anymore.

In the Daily Telegraph, Dan Hodges isn’t taking comments on his column on refugees, presumably because of the abuse that they will generate. But he is partially right – the progressives should accept that they have (rightly) lost their battle for more refugees to be admitted to the UK and focus their efforts on ensuring that aid is targetted at providing humane and decent tent cities close to Syria – and from where they can eventually return home, instead of being at best unwanted guests in our country and at worst a danger to our citizens.

“It’s hard to recognise Sweden from the news reports we’re reading nowadays.”

    Only on planet Nelson! 🙁

    • MrJones

What was happening in Sweden has been known about for ten years online – the mainstream media covered it up.

  • Treebrain

Fascinating as it it for the likes of Fraser Nelson and other members of the metropolitan chattering classes to pontificate about events in Sweden or Germany involving violence and sexual attacks but where have they been for the last two decades?

Do they really have NO idea about the gangs of Muslims of Pakistani origin who have been grooming, raping, beating and prostituting white, Christian schoolgirls on an industrial scale (More than 1,400 in Rochdale alone) for decades?

‘Edge of the city’, the Channel 4 documentary in 2004?

Former Labour MP Ann Cryer from Keighley has been on record for raising this issue decades ago!

Please spare us your sanctimonious twaddle Fraser and grow up and address the very real issues in the UK?

  • WTF

Why are you even asking this question Fraser ?

After at least 2 decades of liberal thinking and enforced multiculturalism & diversity its obvious they along with all other European governments had to cover up Rotherham, Malmo & Cologne to the extent they have. They can’t admit their social engineering program has exacerbated gang rapes, terrorism and sexual attacks as that would admit failure and get them kicked out of office. When a police chief calls the killer of that young refugee helper a victim, something is very sick with the world.

  • Marvin

The deeper they sink into the sewage that they have created out of ignorance and altruism, the harder it is for them to admit to the extent that their country has gone down the road of anarchy and unreversible destruction of their culture.

  • Cyril Sneer

Yet more Swedish cultural enrichment, check out this piece of sh t:

    http://cphpost.dk/news/most-hated-man-in-sweden-being-deported-to-denmark.html

At least he has been arrested and is being deported. On viewing that video the other day I had this incredible urge to head over to Sweden and find this guy and beat him to death with a hammer.

At least people are waking up now. The regressive left are still in denial mode and will remain so but ordinary normal human beings can see that there is no tolerance left for these unwelcome parasites.

Send them all back and they can take the regressive lefty sh ts with them.

  • MartinC

It is a mistake to report the perpetrator as being “15” merely because that’s the age he claims to be. There is very good evidence that some are claiming to be underage orphans in order to gain asylum – whereas in fact they are adult young men in their 20’s.

    • WTF

Good point and seeing the left object most strongly to having proper vetting procedures who knows what vermin has been given residence in the EU over the past 20 years.

Elsewhere I have repeatedly asked ‘lefties’ what they see wrong with proper back ground checks for migrants and EVERY one of these gang rape enablers go silent and refuse to answer. I’m firmly convinced they know in their hearts that if proper ID & criminal checks were enforced, their immigration program would slow to a trickle and only skilled white workers from christian countries would pass the vetting procedure.

And so Dave wants to important some more of this here. He doesn’t get out much, does he?
