The former deputy Speaker of the House of Commons has been acquitted on all counts by the jury at Preston Crown Court.
Evans’ acquittal is already leading to questions about how the Crown Prosecution Service handles this type of case.
Evans has not yet had the Tory whip restored to him. All that the Tory party has said is that discussion on this matter can now begin.
