Most people had not heard of Wendi Deng until she lamped the left wing comedian “Jonnie Marbles”, also known as Jonathan May-Bowles, during her husband Rupert Murdoch’s now infamous appearance before the Culture Select Committee in 2011. Springing to her husband’s defence when he was custard-pied by the comic, her right hook will go down in the history book of punches.

Now it seems that Rupert Murdoch and Wendi, who married in 1999, are going their separate ways. The media mogul filed for divorce at New York’s Supreme Court this morning. The News Corp boss better find a suitable new security guard.

I am genuinely surprised by this.

Genuinely. I mean the perfect couple…

That said now she has her future income sewn up through her daughters, she really doesn’t need to remained married to him. He probably thinks she is getting too old for him.

Presumably Heather Mills will be hanging around in hope.

I was in the room watching the hearing when that happened. You should have heard the thwock! as her fist thumped May-Bowles. She was promoted as a great beauty, but looked to me as she entered the room before the event like a really hard faced, hard hearted woman. Murdoch’s behaviour was that of a man in the very early stages of dementia. See in the clip how he alone of all the people around him barely reacts to May-Bowles’ assault– doesn’t even turn or look towards the man who just landed a shaving cream pie on him. He’s more in need of a superstar divorce lawyer than a security guard….

Murdoch should have received an Oscar for his performance before the committee. Some of the committee members are probably more demented than Rupe.

Yes she she does not come across as warm and cuddly. But her reaction left-wing thuggery was commendable.
